Neurological Consultation

For most neurological symptoms, this is the right place to start

Headaches, dizziness, numbness, memory concerns, or nerve-related symptoms often need careful evaluation long before — if ever — surgery becomes part of the conversation. This consultation is built around understanding what's happening first.

Not sure if you need "neurological" or "neurosurgical"?

Most people genuinely don't, and that's exactly what this visit is for — you don't need to self-diagnose before booking. Here's the difference, in plain terms:

Neurological Consultation (this page)

A diagnostic evaluation for symptoms — headaches, dizziness, numbness, memory concerns, nerve pain — most of which are managed without any surgery at all.

Neurosurgical Consultation

For when surgery is already a likely consideration — an existing scan finding, a known structural issue, or a surgical recommendation to review.

Common questions

Before you book

Will I need surgery if I come in for this consultation?

Almost certainly not, at least not from this visit alone. The large majority of neurological symptoms are evaluated and managed without surgery ever becoming relevant.

What if it turns out I do need a surgical opinion?

If your evaluation points toward something that may need surgical input, Dr. Pathi — already a neurosurgeon — can continue that conversation directly, without starting over with someone new.

Do I need a scan before this appointment?

No — you'll be examined first, and any testing will be recommended only if it's genuinely needed to understand your symptoms.

I'm not sure how to describe my symptoms — is that okay?

Completely fine. Part of this visit is helping you put words to what you're experiencing — you don't need a medical vocabulary to walk in.
