When a child's symptoms cross into neurology

Seizures, headaches, or developmental concerns in children sometimes call for both pediatric and neurological expertise. At Anoki, Dr. K. Sushma and Dr. Rajesh Pathi work together so your child gets a complete, unhurried evaluation.

Child with parent, gentle clinical setting

Most neurological symptoms in children aren't serious

A single seizure, an occasional headache, or a passing developmental question are common, and most have straightforward explanations. An evaluation exists to understand what's happening, reassure you where reassurance is warranted, and catch the smaller number of cases that need closer attention.

Common questions

Questions parents often have

Will my child need to see both doctors?
Not always — many concerns are fully addressed by Dr. Sushma alone. Dr. Pathi is involved specifically when a symptom benefits from specialized neurological evaluation.
My child had one seizure — does that mean epilepsy?
No — a single seizure in a child can have many causes and doesn't automatically mean epilepsy. A proper evaluation helps determine the cause and next steps.
Is it normal for children to get headaches?
Yes, occasional headaches are common in children. Headaches that are frequent, severe, wake your child from sleep, or come with other symptoms are worth a proper evaluation.
What should I bring to my child's evaluation?
Growth and vaccination records, notes on when symptoms started and their pattern, and any prior reports or scans. A description from anyone who witnessed an episode is especially helpful.
