Not sure if this is you?

When it's time to see a spine specialist

Back or neck pain lasting more than a few weeks

Pain that radiates into an arm or leg, or comes with numbness

Weakness in a limb, or difficulty with grip or walking

A scan already shows a disc or spine finding you'd like explained

Most spine problems don't need surgery

The vast majority of back and neck pain, including many disc and nerve conditions, improves with conservative treatment. Surgery is discussed only when it's genuinely the more effective option for your specific case — and you'll always understand why before deciding.

Treatment approach

From conservative care to surgery, only if needed

Step 1

Conservative management

Physiotherapy, posture correction, and activity modification.

Step 2

Medication & injections

Pain and inflammation management where appropriate.

Step 3

Minimally invasive options

Endoscopic and MIS techniques for select cases needing intervention.

If genuinely needed

Spine surgery

Discussed openly, with risks, alternatives and expected recovery explained.

Common questions

Before you book

Does a slipped or herniated disc always need surgery?
No — most disc problems improve with conservative treatment like physiotherapy and activity modification. Surgery is considered only when symptoms are severe, persistent, or involve significant nerve compression.
What's the difference between spondylosis and a slipped disc?
Spondylosis refers to general age-related wear of the spine, while a slipped or herniated disc is a specific disc pushing against a nerve. Both can cause similar symptoms, which is why proper evaluation matters.
I already have a spine surgery recommendation — can I get a second opinion?
Yes — second opinions are welcomed and common before any major spine procedure. Bring your existing reports and imaging to your consultation.
What is minimally invasive spine surgery, and am I a candidate?
It's a technique using smaller incisions for faster recovery. Suitability depends on your specific condition — Dr. Pathi will confirm if it's an appropriate option during consultation.
