Common questions

Questions parents often have

What temperature counts as a fever in a child?
Generally, a temperature at or above 100.4°F (38°C) is considered a fever. How concerning it is depends on your child's age, how they're behaving, and any other symptoms — which is exactly what a consultation helps clarify.
Does every cough or cold need antibiotics?
No — most coughs and colds are viral and resolve on their own with supportive care. Antibiotics are prescribed only when there's a bacterial infection that genuinely needs them.
My child has had diarrhea for a day — should I wait it out?
Brief diarrhea is common and often improves on its own, but watch closely for signs of dehydration. If it persists, worsens, or your child seems unwell, it's worth a prompt consultation rather than waiting further.
How do I know if my child's rash is serious?
Most childhood rashes are minor, but a rash with fever, that spreads quickly, or that doesn't fade when you press on it deserves prompt evaluation rather than a wait-and-see approach.
