Neurotrauma Consultation

Care after a head or spine injury, from the first evaluation through recovery

Whether it's a recent fall, an accident, a sports injury, or ongoing symptoms weeks after one, Dr. Rajesh Pathi evaluates the injury carefully and gives you a clear picture of what's happening and what to expect.

After any head or spine injury, watch for these signs

These need urgent medical attention, not a scheduled appointment — even if the injury itself seemed minor at the time.

Loss of consciousness, even briefly Repeated vomiting after the injury Worsening headache or increasing confusion Weakness, numbness or difficulty moving a limb Clear fluid or blood from the nose or ears Seizure following the injury

Neck pain with numbness or weakness after an accident should also be treated as urgent.

Call 108 Now

If you're not in that situation right now

Most head injuries are mild and improve with rest and simple precautions. This consultation is for evaluating an injury that's already happened and is medically stable — a recent concussion, ongoing symptoms after a fall or accident, or a whiplash-type neck injury that isn't improving as expected.

Common questions

Questions patients often have

I hit my head but didn't lose consciousness — is that still worth checking?

Yes — concussion and other injuries can occur without loss of consciousness. If you have any new symptoms after a head injury, it's worth an evaluation.

How long do concussion symptoms usually last?

Most people recover within one to two weeks, though it can take longer for some. If symptoms persist or worsen, a consultation helps rule out other causes and guide recovery.

Do I need a CT or MRI scan?

Not always. Imaging is recommended based on your specific symptoms and exam findings, not automatically for every injury.

When can I go back to sport or exercise after a head injury?

This should be a gradual, guided process rather than an all-at-once return. Dr. Pathi will give you a staged plan based on how you're recovering.
