A pediatrician discussing nutrition with a parent and child

When feeding issues need urgent medical attention: If your infant is refusing all feeds, hasn't had a wet diaper in 6+ hours, is severely lethargic, or if your child is losing weight rapidly and unexpectedly, seek immediate pediatric evaluation or go to an emergency room.

Ending the mealtime battles

We understand how stressful it is when your child simply won't eat. Our approach focuses on building healthy relationships with food, taking the anxiety out of eating, and ensuring your child gets exactly what they need to thrive at every stage of development.

6 Months

Moving from a milk-only diet to introducing solid foods, managing gag reflexes, and identifying early allergens safely.

1-3 Years

The Toddler Strike

When your previously great eater suddenly refuses everything but crackers, and mealtimes become a daily struggle.

School & Teens

The Growth Spurt

Adjusting diets for high-energy sports, rapid growth spurts, and managing the influence of junk food at school.

What happens

Your child's visit, step by step

1

Detailed dietary recall

We review your child's 3-day food diary to see exactly what they are (and aren't) eating to identify nutritional gaps.

2

Growth and percentile tracking

Accurate height and weight measurements are plotted on WHO/IAP growth charts to assess their physical development.

3

Targeted clinical exam

Checking for physical signs of deficiencies, such as pale skin (iron), bowed legs (Vitamin D), or poor dental health.

4

Realistic meal planning

Creating a practical plan using locally available, familiar foods that fits into your family's actual lifestyle and budget.

5

Follow-up strategy

Establishing clear goals and scheduling a review to track weight changes or improvements in eating behaviors over time.

Before your visit

What to bring

Helping us understand their true habits

A 3-day food diary

This is critical. Write down everything your child eats and drinks (including water, juices, and tiny snacks) for three normal days.

Previous growth records

Bring old vaccination cards or health books that have past weight and height measurements so we can see their growth over time.

Current supplements

Bring the bottles of any vitamins, iron drops, or commercial health drinks/powders you are currently giving them.

Recent blood reports

If your child has had a CBC, Vitamin D, or iron panel done recently, bring those results to the consultation.

Common questions

Questions parents often ask

Do I need to buy expensive health drinks or powders?

Usually, no. While some medical situations require specialized formulas, the vast majority of children can get all the nutrition they need from a balanced diet of natural, whole foods. We prioritize real food over expensive supplements.

My toddler only eats three things. Should I force them to eat?

Never force a child to eat, as this creates negative associations with food. Picky eating is a very common developmental phase. We will work on strategies for gradual exposure and removing the pressure from mealtimes.

When should I start giving my baby water?

Babies do not need any water before 6 months of age; breastmilk or formula provides all their hydration. Small sips of water can be introduced when they start eating solid foods around 6 months.

Should I give my child vitamin supplements just in case?

Routine multivitamin supplementation is not necessary for most healthy children who eat a varied diet. However, specific supplements like Vitamin D or Iron may be required based on clinical assessment.

How do I know if my child is allergic to a food?

Signs of an allergy usually happen soon after eating and can include hives, facial swelling, vomiting, or breathing issues. If you suspect an allergy, we will evaluate the symptoms and may recommend targeted allergy testing.
